Story
All money raised with be split between Strathcarron Hospice and 3rd Kilsyth Boys Brigade.
Earlier this year, a very close family friend lost his fight with Cancer. Strathcarron Hospice provided both him, and his loved ones with the support and comfort in those last few weeks of his life. The hospice only has 1 "cuddle bed" which allows patients to cuddle up with family members in those precious final moments. These cost over 10k and half the money raised will go towards helping buy a new one.
The 3rd Kilsyth Boys Brigade have raised tens of thousands of ££ over the past 8 years to help a local school in Malawi. The company have helped build classrooms, a library, provided equipment for the kids and helped out in the local community. This year we are looking to raise funds to provide computers and solar panels for the school and send out a number of boys to help continue working in the community. The boys are each asked to raise funds to support their travel and accommodation, as well as money towards work in the school.
To raise funds, we have decided to not only do one, but 2 extreme challenges, across 2 weekends in July. The first one being the Kindrochit Quadrathlon at loch Tay. This consists of a 1mile swim, a 15 mile run across 7 munros climbing 9k feet, kayaking 7 miles along the loch and finish by cycling 34 miles round the loch. The followinng weekend we will take part in the Edinburgh 24 hour rely race around Arthurs Seat. We will be part of a team of 4 who will run continulously for 24 hours in turn around the 5k loop.
These are two unbelievably mentally and physically enduring challenges but all for two very worthwhile causes. If you can donate anything at all, Gary and I would be extremely grateful and give us the drive and determination to complete these tough feats.
