Story

Hello! My name is Andreas and I am the Leader of Earlswood 2nd Reigate's Cub Pack. The Cubs know me as Bagheera.
Earlswood 2nd Reigate are one of the oldest Scout Group's in the country and have been serving the Earlswood, St John's and Redhill area since 1908. Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society plus it is a lot of fun! Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of the child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we help them find it. 2nd Reigate Scouts are in desperate need of a new HQ as our current scouting home has seen better days. This is where I come in...!
I turned 40 in January and as such, have done what all men of my age do and had a mid-life crisis, but instead of buying a motorbike (I already own one) or getting highlights in my hair (I have no hair), I've decided to do a whole load of cycling to raise money for charity. Towards the middle of last year, I came up with a plan. The plan was to do 40 different cycle rides, each of 40 miles or over at the age of 40.
Over the course of the year, I will be visiting various different parts of this fair isle and cycling some well, and not so well, trodden paths. You can follow my progress via my Instagram page @epsombicycleco
Please dig deep. To quote a famous song, "I believe the children are our future," and without decent facilities for them to hang out with their friends every week – have fun, play games, work in a team and take on new challenges, their futures will be pretty bleak.
