Story
In march one of our dachshunds 'Tuppins' was diagnosed with an Osteosarcoma Tumour that was attached to her ribs and already spread very rapidly to her lungs, heart, spine and all around her chest. After about 2 and a half weeks of fighting for her, trying anything we could to try and fight this tumour sadly nothing worked. In the early hours of 6th April her life was taken from us when she was struggling so much to breath.
As a family we have all had our hearts broken by the loss of our dearest Tupps, she was only 3 years old and taken from us far too young.
At home we have her grandmother, mother, daughter and adopted aunt and sister who are missing her too.
This is the first ever reported case of a dachshund developing Osteosarcoma and is therefore very rare in dachshunds and is rather unheard of.
Our loss has motivated us to do as much as we can because Tuppin's life mattered. She meant the whole world to us .
To help spread awareness and to honour our Tupps many of Tuppin's family and her doggy friends are walking a total of 4000km by the17th June. This marks what would have been Tupps' 4th birthday!
We are going to split the money raised between 2 amazing charities in memory of our Tuppins. The first charity is called 'Dedicated to dachshunds with IVDD', this charity provides equipment for dachshunds just like Tupps in their time of need. Due to the tumour Tuppins struggled to walk far and Dedicated to Dachshunds lent us a stroller so Tuppins could enjoy the outdoors for her final few weeks with us. . The second charity we are giving to is called 'Animal Health Trust' who does amazing research on canine cancers, which will help other dogs going through what our Tuppins did.
We have a facebook page giving regular updates and information dedicated to our Tuppins cause! 4000km For Tupps' Birthday!
