Story

2019 is the 50th anniversary of the Riding for the Disabled Association. Many of you will know the challenges that Eleanor has been through during her life but finding the Dukeries RDA 18 months ago has really helped her. She loves the horses, she loves everyone that she meets there and the smiles and laughter you get from her when she is there light up even the dullest of days.

It is a small group - only five horses and ponies - run by a small but very caring and enthusiastic team. They give their time to enrich the lives of others so I wanted to do something in return...

Those who know me will know that I am no runner - true I did a 10k run last summer but that was mainly for the cider and I did a half-marathon when I was 17 but that was more years ago than I care to remember so I am not sure it counts anymore. Anyway, in honour of the 50th anniversary I decided that I would 'run 50k for the RDA'. Then, somewhere along the way, I decided that I would 'run 50k in just one day for the RDA' so that is what I am doing.

On Saturday May 11th Blinny and I will be running the Dukeries 30 Mile race. I know that technically it is just short of 50k and also that I won't be running all of it but it is as close to 'running 50k in just one day' that I will ever get!!!

Anything you can give to this great cause will be appreciated. They exist on such a little that genuinely anything will make a huge difference - and knowing that I am giving something back will help to get me round.
