Story
Hi, my name is Lucy and I'm an artist living and working in Glasgow. Back in August 2017 I set myself the slightly daunting task of painting a portrait a week for an entire year. All of the portraits are of women; some I already know and love, others are women that volunteered and wanted to be part of the project because of their own stories and experiences.
The aim of this project is to raise money for the fabulous cancer support charity,, Maggie's. All the portraits are available for purchase and all proceeds from sales of the work will be donated to Maggie's.
I chose to raise funds for Maggie's after two good friends of mine received support from the charity and this gave me an insight into all the amazing work they do. #50portraitsandme #maggiescentre
