Story

My name is Holly and I am the current Junior Captain at John O’Gaunt Golf Club in Bedfordshire. On the 22nd June I will be playing three rounds (54 holes) with the Club, Ladies and Senior Captains in order to raise money for our chosen charities. I have chosen to support The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) and Head to Toe.

NRAS provides information and support services for those affected by rheumatoid arthritis, their families, friends, carers, and health professionals. I have chosen NRAS as a charity because my mum is an RA nurse and has worked closely with the charity to better support her patients for several years.

Head to Toe is the charity for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust which aims to provide help and support to bridge the gap between healthcare and the local community. All money raised from both my longest day challenge and charity day will be split equally between the charities with all donations for Head to Toe going directly to The Darwin Centre in Cambridge. The Darwin Centre is a Tier 4 adolescent inpatient unit which offers treatment to young people experiencing psychiatric, emotional or psychological problems that interfere with their social, interpersonal and educational functioning. The centre works in partnership with young people, their families, and local professionals to help them return home as soon as they are able. I have chosen to support Head to Toe and The Darwin Centre as a close friend of mine has been a patient there for several years.

I will also be holding a charity day on the 6th August which will include an auction.

Any support would be greatly appreciated
