Story
Craig Dodson, Branch Manager BSS Swindon is just a delightful person and a pleasure to work with. Last year we heard the tragic news that Motor Neurone Disease had entered his life.
I deliberated, for far too long, about what I could possibly do. As all of you who know me will agree, I am no natural athlete, but I’ve put my trainers on and started to prepare to run 5K every day of March for Craig and the MND Community.
I contacted my HR Director to talk it through with her, and to my delight she said she would also run 5K every day of March. It didn’t stop there though; my Managing Director, National Sales Director, Key Accounts Director and two amazing colleagues have also said they will do the challenge too.
So, in addition to myself there will be a team from Geberit that includes Ashley Anderson, Mark & Nikki Larden, Raffaela De Vittorio, Purdie Proudman, Martin Murray, Elize Webb and Mandy Webb and we will embark on the challenge of running 5K for every day of March. We have a Strava group so everyone will be able to see our progress (and to make sure we’re all behaving ourselves and putting the km’s in).
All money raised will be split evenly between Craig Dodson and the MNDA charity. Craig is from Swindon and lives with his wife, Dana, and two teenage children. What they have been through since diagnosis is unthinkable and we’d like the opportunity to give them some positivity back.
Motor Neurone Disease is a Neuro Degenerative Disease (NDD) which essentially means Craig’s central nervous system is unable to send signals to his motor neurones, which are critical to be able to move limbs and control movement. Currently there is no cure for MND but charities are working hard to turn this around. Our aim is to raise as much money as we can to help them achieve this a little quicker.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for any donation. All funds received will make a tremendous difference to Craig and his family as he battles this horrible disease.
