Story

On the 10th April my partner Sam and his friends are making the 62 mile round journey from Barnsley Hospital to Tameside and Glossop Hospital.

This is in aid of supporting and raising money for both NICU units who helped both me and my son Herbie who was born in Tameside at 31 weeks in November 2025 after being shipped out from Barnsley due to NICU bed shortage.

Through the 4 weeks Herbie was in NICU one week at Tameside and 3 weeks at Barnsley we was offered so much love and support from both the nurses and doctors who helped us all through this difficult time.

In our NICU journey we noticed how under appreciated and underfunded the staff and Hospitals themselves are we are wanting to give back to both places Tameside for supporting Herbie when he took his first breath and giving him the best start to life and Barnsley for continuing that support and helping him grow into the amazing little 10 week old he is today without both hospitals I don’t know where we would be right now.

Along with Sam doing his 62 mile journey I will also be taking on the 62 miles in March in aid of Bliss Charity who support families in NICU.

Any donation however small will help us make the world of difference for both Hospitals and we thank you for every donation we receive💜
