Story
The life blood of many Scout Groups is the land their hut sits on. Furthermore, Scouts are an outdoors organisation and to properly support the goals of the organisation the Group needs an outdoor space to enrich the programme we offer to all of our sections.
8th Oxford Scout Group have some great outdoor space at their hut in Headington but unfortunately it needs some TLC to bring it up to the standard the Group deserves.
With the money raised we hope to build three firepits plus an oil drum oven which will all be used by all sections at 8th Oxford to not only practice firelighting but rustle up some tasty Scout cooked meals.
We aim to build a better, more stable wood store to support our outdoor activities. Elsewhere in the garden we need to do a lot of clearing, weeding and redesigning so the garden is a lot easier for our team of volunteers to maintain.
Lastly, we have recently had a new wall built by our front gates as part of our neighbours development, we plan to rejuvenate this area and provide a warm and welcoming arrival into our grounds as well as giving out Youth Leaders (such as Patrol Leaders) somewhere quiet to sit when taking part in their Patrol Leaders Councils
