Hello! We are A4 Studios; a not-for-profit group set up by 4 creatives from different backgrounds.

We are building affordable studio space for creatives, with our main goal being to provide spaces for artists with disabilities and those on low incomes.

Affordable studio space with full disabled access is very hard to find, so with this in mind we have sourced a suitable building with fantastic transport links. We have drawn up plans and a sustainable 5 year business plan. But we now need your help!

It’s very difficult to find ground floor accessible space and, for those lucky enough to find it, there is a long waiting list or only one studio in a complex which means many disabled artists find themselves isolated.

Artist like Brogan; he is a photographer and music producer who uses a wheel chair. Brogan has a studio on the fifth floor of an old mill in Manchester and he has found that the only lift in the building constantly breaks down, stranding him either on the 5th floor or in the lift; It's not safe. He also feels isolated as he has little in common with other artists in the complex and his needs as a creator and individual differ from his immediate peers. So he gets very little social interaction in his existing studio. This is having an impact on his creativity and his mental well being.

We can provide the labour, but need your kind donations to purchase materials and help with the initial running costs of the studios.

Once full the studios become self sustaining, but we need donations to provide workshops that will catered for everyone in the community. We will also have art therapy workshops aimed at socially isolated individuals and those with disabilities to improve on health and well-being. We will employ interns and volunteers to help deliver our services.
