Story

On 28th October, I will be running Snowdonia Marathon Eryi in Wales, to support the work of Ana Onse Mpata Umodzi (AOMU)

Since 2020, Ana Onse Mpata Umodzi has been working hard to ensure access to quality education for children with severe learning difficulties and disabilities in Malawi. Work has so far focused in Lilongwe and Mponela districts.

With crowd funding support, AOMU has built a classroom for 46 children with special educational needs. Once well equipped, this will also be used a resource centre for 122 children with similar needs in the area.

AOMU has also facilitated access to foundational training in Special Needs Education for 60 teachers so that they better support their pupils; provided wheelchairs for 7 children and paid tuition fees for 7 children who were accepted at Mua Special for the Deaf and Mpalankhanga Special School for Girls.

Support is needed to keep this work going. Please don’t get tired of helping us. AOMU’s achievements are your achievements!
