My parenting experiences and desire to reach out as a volunteer mean I am extremely keen to train as a Group Facilitator with Attachment Parenting UK (APUK).

As a social enterprise and non-profit organisation, APUK trains parents to facilitate parent/child groups to support parents interested in any aspect of attachment parenting. These face-to-face meetings are an important way for like-minded parents to connect and I’m committed to being involved with this positive and dynamic community.

Attachment parenting promotes a close, responsive relationship between parents and child and attachment parents are often highly creative in seeking out resources and materials to support their child’s emotional and physical development.

It is about modelling behaviour you wish to see and having respect, empathy and a desire for connection. Attached families may enjoy the benefits of bedsharing, babywearing or breastfeeding but these are not essential; they are tools not rules which simply support the ability to be a highly responsive parent.”
