Story

We at Access Bookings are beyond excited to share that we're raising funds for our local Lichfield LGBTQ+ Pride weekend, which is now in its third year.

During the last week of May we will be hosting an exciting array of fundraising activities for our team, in the hopes of raising funds to support this wonderful local charity that supports our beautiful city's LGBTQ+ community.

We're so excited about this amazing cause and would be thrilled if you could take a moment to learn more about it and consider making a donation to help us make this event a roaring success. Your support means the world to us, and we can't wait to see what we can achieve together!

Lichfield Pride Facebook

Lichfield Pride is a non-profit charity organisation based in Lichfield, Staffordshire. Established in 2022, it aims to promote equality, inclusivity, and support the LGBTQ+ community in the city and its surrounding areas. The charity's focus is on raising awareness, providing a safe space, and combating discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals.

One of Lichfield Pride's primary objectives is to organise an annual pride festival, which serves as a powerful platform for the LGBTQ+ community to express themselves and celebrate their identities. This event brings together people from all walks of life, irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender identity, to promote unity and societal acceptance. The festival typically includes a vibrant parade, live music performances, educational talks, and various other entertainment activities.

In addition to organising the pride festival, Lichfield Pride is committed to creating a supportive network and advocating for LGBTQ+ rights throughout the year. The charity works closely with other local organisations, community groups, and educational institutions to deliver tailored services and support programmes that address the unique needs of the local LGBTQ+ community. Such initiatives aim to foster an inclusive society where everyone can live free from discrimination and prejudice.

Lichfield Pride places emphasis on education and awareness as key tools in promoting change. The charity actively engages with schools and colleges in the area, delivering comprehensive workshops to promote LGBTQ+ visibility, tolerance, and understanding. By providing this training, they aim to reduce discrimination, bullying, and harassment in educational environments, creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ students to thrive.

Another crucial aspect of Lichfield Pride's work is their commitment to assisting individuals with their mental health and wellbeing. The ongoing burden of societal prejudice that some LGBTQ+ individuals face can lead to higher rates of mental health issues. In response, the charity seeks to promote positive mental health practices and offers direction towards support networks, counselling services, and workshops on coping mechanisms to promote overall wellbeing.

The charity heavily relies on the generous donations and support of the local community, as well as corporate sponsors, to fund its initiatives and events. Volunteers play an integral role in ensuring the smooth running of Lichfield Pride's projects, helping with event planning, fundraising, and providing assistance on the ground.

In summary, Lichfield Pride plays a vital role in advocating for LGBTQ+ equality and promoting inclusivity in Lichfield and the surrounding areas. Through organising the annual pride festival, facilitating educational workshops, providing support networks, and advocating for change, the charity is making a positive difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals. Its efforts bring communities together, foster understanding, and ensure that all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can thrive in a safe and accepting society.
