The refugees in Calais are facing a bitter winter with desperate shortages of the basics - food, clothing and shelter. While governments wrangle over what to do, we can at least give humanitarian support and do whatever we can to make this terrible situation more tolerable for people just like us

People have been in camps in Calais since 1999. It is intolerable that men women and children should be suffering in this way on our own doorstep.

We are intending to film the process of collection and distribution so that everybody will be able to see for themselves where their donations have gone

£500 will get one van to Calais. Any contingency will be put towards further vans and aid
