Hi everybody,

after two years of trying to conceive, my partner and I thought time could be running out. So we had some basic tests and we were quite quickly put into the category of "‘unexplained infertility". Further tests and scans showed that Betty, my girlfriend, had polycystic ovaries and issues with the blood circulation around her uterus. Once we identified the issue very clearly, we talked through a number of different options, debating the pros, cons and the chances of success. In the end, we decided to undergo IVF treatment as suggested by every doctor and expert we talked to. In fact, thanks to modern medicine our chances of success of conceiving through such a treatment could be very high.

The next step was finding out if we were eligible for a treatment funded by the NHS. Unfortunately, because of the very strict eligibility criteria we can only go for a treatment offered by a private clinic. They seem to be more expensive than expected, though.
No doubt, for the both of us this is a very good reason to use our savings, but we are afraid that won't be enough. This is why we thought of asking for some help on JustGiving.
