Currently children like my son throughout the country face difficulties accessing good & consistent speech and language therapy. Due to the lack of government funding many families struggle to get the input these children require.

If it wasnt for a small number of key people in Alfie‘s life he would not have been exposed to using the AAC device that provided him with his voice and a conection to the world around him.

Through a team effort of therapist's, carers, teachers, family and friends Alfie was able to make choices, tell us when he was uncomfortable, ask for the toilet, tell us about his favourite facts, tell us silly jokes and the occasional well timed fart noise.

We are obviously devastated at this current time due to Alfies passing and the only thing that is keeping us going is talking about the communication club we started for him at the beginning of the year.

Five days after Alfie’s passing we carried out his 3rd Chatty Boxx session for a small group of children and it was a beautiful event and I am extremely proud of Sophie, Grace and Emily for having the strength to conduct this session.

With your kind donations we aim to continue the club and expand it to as many children as possible with the aim to offer further support within schools and the children’s wider families. It takes a lot of input and patience and we hope to provide a service that enables these children to have a voice.
