Story

We are hoping to try and raise money to fund our IVF journey as we have been told that we have a year to conceive due to my diagnosis of mucinous metaplasia (pre cancerous change). Please read a summarised version of our story below.

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at a young age (25 years old), been through various treatment regimes including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery (double mastectomy) which caused significant physical and mental changes. We have been trying to conceive naturally since 2021 with no luck. I have had a range of tests done through gynaecology and recently have had a diagnosis given called ‘mucinous metaplasia’ inside my womb which is a pre cancerous change. In my results appointment, my consultant recommended a full hysterectomy because of these changes which would put me into surgical menopause almost straight away. From what you can imagine we have went through a lot of stress, heartbreak and we have shedded a lot of tears because of this news as our main focus is to start a family.

We’ve just recently had another appointment with my consultant on the 01/12/2023 to express how much myself and my husband would like to start a family together. There has been a safety net agreed for us to try and conceive within a year then i would need to have a full hysterectomy. We have been trying since 2021 with no luck, our tests are normal apart from one of my tubes are blocked from cancer treatment so our only option now is to conceive through IVF due to the limited time that we now have but our downfall is the cost for IVF as it is not available to us on the NHS as I have a child from a previous relationship.

I have to have 6 monthly hysteroscopies which is performed under general anaesthetic to biopsy my womb to make sure that my condition hasnt turned to cancer.

All we are asking for is a donation as little as £1 to help towards our IVF journey. Everything given is greatly appreciated. We both want this so much and we would love to start a family together. We hate having to ask, but it seems like our only option due to the prices and the time that we have. I’m hoping and praying we can do this with your help.
