    Story

Angela is a great mum to our 2 daughters Grace and Alice, and step mum to Nicky and Laura, and step nan to their growing brood of boys. She loved to spend her time keeping herself fit at the gym with her large circle of friends, whilst developing the girls into fine young ladies.
In May 2015, she experienced issues in her legs, which were diagnosed in September as blood clots arising from lung cancer. She had her left lung removed at the end of November.
She commenced treatment with one of the latest inhibitor drugs to control further lesions in her spine. This seemed to working to the point that Angela recovered enough of her wellbeing to restart light exercise at the gym in March 2016 a couple of times each week.
In April, she experienced severe breathing difficulties which was diagnosed as being due to pulmonary embolisms. Whilst hospitalised she acquired hospital induced pneumonia, and received a filter to prevent further clots in her lung.
Recovery has been slow but gradual, until the latest set of scans showing that the cancer has spread to 2 other vertebrae and her pelvic plate. It appears that the inhibitor drug is no longer effective, and her cancer may have mutated again.
Throughout this period, we have researched and investigated options for other treatments. Given Angela’s cancer induced blood clotting, this seems to disqualify her participation in any medical trials.
One option is immunology. Recognising that this is very new, early results suggest good results in helping lung cancer patients.
Our intention is for Angela to attend the Hallwang clinic in Germany which seems to be at the forefront of this treatment. As its new, it is unfortunately (comparatively) expensive.
Please give or raise whatever you can to help send Angela for this treatment to provide her with her ultimate pleasure of seeing her own grandchildren. Please feel reassured that any money not used directly for Angela will be donated to Cancer UK.
    Thanks in anticipation.

Many thanks to everyone for their contribution, particularly the tremendous boys in Leeds. Don't get cold heads! Regrettably Angela passed on Friday 16th Dec 2016, due to the clots being caused by the cancer. It was Angela's wish that we return donations of £50 or more, so please call or text me (07951 574512) your bank details to allow me to do this. With your permission, remaining funds will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support who supported her throughout, and gave her great comfort in her final time. RIP Angela my love forever xxx

Thanks for the continuing support from everyone. It's been a very eventful last few days, with Angela struggling to breath the week before last. This resulted in her being admitted into the L&D hospital on the Saturday, where another pulmonary embolism was diagnosed. She was discharged on Thursday evening with a home oxygen supply. Having pushed Stanmore to progress the required biopsy, they came up with an option to do it yesterday. Regrettably this has had to be postponed until she is fit enough, hopefully this will be in a couple of weeks

Thanks for the continuing support from everyone. We had a successful trip to Germany which confirmed that our next step must be to obtain the bone biopsy suggested by our UK oncologist. We've asked them to help with this as it's taking for ever in the UK. Depending on what the biopsy informs they may be able to develop appropriate treatments.
