Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Kids Palace Kenya is a baby day care centre and kindergarten for children in Kibera whose parents do not afford to send them to school. It is a place where they can spend the day in a safe, educational and joyful environment :)
Opened in 2012, Kids Palace is a non-profit organisation and depends entirely on donations and fundraising to pay for electricity, water, food, books and school supplies as well as salaries for the local staff of five women who teach, cook for the children, clean and keep the centre running.
Our main aim is to uphold the principles of sustainable development and collaboration by providing support, training and resources which can enable the centre and its staff to become self-sufficient. We recently added a water catchment in order to save and use rainwater, as well as a small garden where some plants and vegetables can be planted.
Every year we organise fund raising activities from home in order to support the continuity and development of this project, however this year we have not yet managed to cover all funding and that is why we are asking for your generous help, in order to keep it running for the next months until Kids Palace gets back on its feet again!
We truly appreciate all your kind generosity :) any help means the most vulnerable children in Kibera can keep benefitting from warm, healthy meals, basic education and a safe environment to spend their day in. In their name we thank you very much!! :)
