My daughter Anna, is going to Uganda in June 2018 and will travel with the charity Signpost International. The main reason for the trip is to visit the camps where she will provide education and support to young women and girls around sustainable feminine hygiene issues. There is a real problem in camps whereby the number of girls in education drops significantly when they reach the age of menstruation. They simply do not have access to sanitary items which means the girls stay at home and drop out of school. By showing them how to make sustainable and hygienic products, this will empower the girls to take control, remain in school and build a bright future for themselves.
