Aquila Wildlife & Nature aims to inform and inspire local communities to create healthy connections with Perthshire’s unique natural environment and wildlife. We also aim to promote inclusion of those who suffer from physical or mental disabilities, serious or chronic health conditions, limited mobility, or who struggle to find opportunities to get outdoors. Everyone should be able to access the health and emotional benefits of the natural world, no matter their current situation.
Can you imagine not being to get outdoors, even to your garden? Having always been active but no longer being able to walk into the hills? Or being a teenager but having to spend all your time caring for others?
We are a registered CIC (community interest company) whose upcoming projects include affordable wildlife tours and holidays for all, talks and screenings focused on environmental education within the local community, accessible nature watching schemes (including for those who are housebound), weekend getaways focused on young adult carers, advice on rewilding your garden or increasing local biodiversity for communities, and various wildlife-themed events for families throughout the year. All of our activities are made to be as affordable as possible, and all our activities will be free to under 14s. Our team of staff and volunteers are extremely passionate and committed to providing everyone with quality and accessible experiences. We all have a caring background or have experienced health issues ourselves.
We would appreciate any donations, however small, to help fund our proposed projects, and to work towards our vision of everyone being able to enjoy nature for health and wellbeing.
If you would like to learn more about what we do, and keep up to date with our upcoming events, check out our website or social media channels.
