My son Arlo is 1 years old and has Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic condition that affects his lungs. We need to raise £8,000 to fund an essential physiotherapy vest that helps clear his lungs of thick sticky mucus, helps him breathe easier and prevents damaging infections that deteriorate the lungs. As his immune system is affected he must have it new and this treatment isn't NHS funded but will improve his wellbeing greatly. Cystic fibrosis is a scary condition but we are all doing our best to provide Arlo with the equipment and medicine for the best outcomes and a healthy life. His medical condition also means he will have ongoing medical costs through his life, which does affect how quickly we can act on new research, new equipment and ultimately how CF affects Arlo's life and independence.
Together with the community we have done a fantastic fun day, ha media coverage through press and radio shows, we've managed to raise lots of awareness on what Cystic Fibrosis is and are getting ready for the Bath Half Marathon that several amazing volunteers and choosing to run to raise money for Arlo. We have found this a good base for people to be able to kindly donate to providing Arlo with financial resources to a less limited future.
