Ashford TW15 Christmas Project 2016.

The local community groups and the general public need to raise funds, so that we can put up Christmas lights within the town. Historically, Ashford has always had Christmas lights throughout the town at this special time of the year and we need to continue the tradition.

Last year was the first year we use crowd funding to raise money towards Christmas Lights. This year we hope to raise considerably more so we can put up refurbished lights from 2014 along with the solar powered Christmas tree lights we had last year.

Christmas lights are fundamental in creating a festive experience at this time of year and are important for the well-being of the town and its people. Christmas excites so many people, of all ages, within the town and the surrounding villages. Along with our Christmas Tree in the town square, a Carol service and a special visit from Father Christmas, Ashford is a very special place at this time of year, bringing together the community spirit.

We hope to have the lights installed at the end of November to be switched on at the beginning of December.

This is the second year we are using this type of funding and will only add to the festive experience at this time of year in Ashford.

The money is needed to fund the Christmas lights that go on the lamposts in the town along with the lights on the Multi-Storey Car Park. The more money we raise the more we can do so we need everybody to donate what they can afford towards this project.

We require £3,500 to refurbish the old lights and get them working.
We need £3000 for the Solar powered Christmas Trees
And we need £2,500 to hire the equipment to put these lights up throughout the town.
