    Story

On Friday 31st March 2017 a team from B Strong U Belong (BSUB), made up of Danny Miles, Paul Hocking, Rob Keitch, Rob Levenston & Tony Warren will be cycling from Bristol and finishing at Griffin Park (home of Brentford Football Club) on the Saturday in time to watch Brentford v Bristol City.

The purpose of this, and other BSUB challenges and events, is to help raise funds and awareness for two great charities that support people with mental health in Bristol and across the south west.

The route, which takes in locations of personal significance to the team, totals some 140 miles and represents a major challenge for these novice riders.

Please support the team with whatever you can.

    Why are we doing it?

B strong U belong, increasing everyone's awareness around mental health and depression.

Major depression is a rapidly growing issue; however there remains a common misconception around depression and the reluctance to deal with this in UK society. It is now the number one physical disorder in the western world, it is growing in all age groups and can be found in all communities.

In 2012 a very close friend of ours and many people decided to take his own life at 37 years old. Apart from the shock and grief the worst thing looking back on this was the fact that nobody knew how bad his depression and anxiety had become. Although aware of this in the past and supporting him during the tough times, his actions came as a shock to all of us.

This is where 'Be Strong You Belong' comes in......

A charity partnership initiative has been set up with two Bristol based charities 'Off the Record' and 'Second Step' in memory of Pete Davies:

    http://www.second-step.co.uk/

The purpose of the partnership is to raise funds for these two great charities, as well as increasing everyone's awareness around mental health.

Lets make a difference to 'Second Step' and 'Off the Record' in Pete Davies' memory.
