My dog suddenly took unwell and it’s something very serious unfortunately.

She is suffering from sever anemia and needs regular blood tests, sometimes even twice a day she is also on various medications for clots, stomach liners, and steroids which is all very costly. She has also had a blood transfusion as red blood cells got as low as 9 so this has saved her life for now, but still a long way to go as the vets need to do further investigating as to why her immune system is attacking her red blood cells. This now means more tests and scans and a bone marrow biopsy.

She is our baby girl and any help we get is so much appreciated and we are very grateful for any help we receive.

UPDATE: beansy has now had a scan and nothing was found in her gut and a bone marrow biopsy has been done and sent away its so heart breaking 💔 results will be back mid week next week wed 31st july.

UPDATE: So beansy was at vets today 29th July 2024 had another blood test to check her blood count and awaiting the results and still awaiting bone marrow results. UPDATE: Today 30th july 2024 we received beansy bone marrow results and she is suffering from IMHA (Immune Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia) she is on lots of medications to line her stomach as she is on aggresive steroids and on medication to stop blood clots and has now been put on another medication she will need constant medication and blood count tests every week and a full blood test done every 2 weeks sent to labs she will also need probably multiple blood transfusions still to try and get her immune system to start working this could take months if it was to work and improve but the bad news is this may not work and could lose our wee girl. 💔 but thinking positive and praying she eventually recovers over time with treatments. her blood count 14 days ago when had transfusion was 24 and yesterday was 21 so its going down slowly when it reaches 9 they will do another blood transfusion and continue this agressIve medications and regular blood checks. So please keep donating it all helps keep our wee girl alive.

UPDATE: Beansy had her stitches out today where had the bone marrow taken from and healed ok. Her next blood count test is 5th Aug 2024.

UPDATE: Beansy was in vets on Monday 5th Aug for more blood testing her blood count is hovering between 20/21 so is booked in for more blood test on monday 12th Aug 2024 and continue all medications treatmeant on going..

UPDATE: Beansy had her blood count test done Aug 12th and unfortunately they have dropped again diwn to 17 now so still continue all medications and bloods to be repeated every Monday just now. she will get her 2nd emergency blood transfusion when her bloods drop to about 12 and the medications can take months to work if they work unfortunately so please keep donating it all helps keep our wee beautiful girl going and her treatments and transfusions as she may need several.

UPDATE: Beansy was at vets today 26th Aug unfortunately her red blood cells dropped again to 11 now so emergency blood transfusio has to go ahead this is her 2nd one so she will go in tomorrow morning for this. ♥️ still on all her medication.

UODATE: Beansy had blood transfusion 27/08/24 and went well 2nd time no reactions her blood count went up to 36 this time the highest its ever been. So hope and pray it dont start going down and her medications start to work. Next blood count test on 02/09/24. All the donations are helping so much i had to withdraw some funds to help pay for blood transfusion and some more meds so PLEASE ALL KEEP DONATING AS ITS HELPING KEEP OUR WEE GIRL ALIVE. UPDATE: Beansy was back in vets for blood count check and is at 33 so at a ok level still for her and stayed the same fir 2 weeks so she will be back to vets again on Thursday 19th September for another blood count check and health check. To see if still dropping or if the medication has started to work As can take sevr months to work. So please all keep donatiing it really helps.

UPDATE: Beansys blood count was at 32.5 at her vet appointment so never dropped much but her blood test that was sent to labs for testing showed that unfortunately her bone marrow is still not regenerative yet so still on going treatments and another 4th blood transfusion when it drops to a near dangerous level 😢 and continue all medications. Next blood count test is on 3rd October 2024.

UPDATE: 3rd October blood court was 29 to keep doi as we are with meds next vet appointment 17th October.

UPDATE: 17th October beansys bloods has dropped a bit again to 28 very slowly dropping now, next appointment 29th October.

UPDATE: Beansys bloods has dropped to 27.5 still dropping slowly unfortunately. Still to keep on with medications and next blood check is 14th November 2024.

UPDATE: 10th January 2025 Beansys still on all medications and getting treatment her blood count had went up for first time in 6 months not by much but went from 28 up to 32.5 so here’s hoping it does not start to drop again as it can its just a case of keeping on with medication and treatment for now and vet and specialists see her on a regular basis still. Its still costing a fortune and and also if she may need any more emergency blood transfusions.

UPDATE: Beansys blood count went up to 40 yahhhh !!! Its going up still.

UPDATE: unfortunately beansy has had a wee gich and her blood count went down last week feb 28th to 37.5 and today 7th march 2025 her vet check up her blood count dropped to 35 :( so back to weekly blood count checks i am terrified again and worried sick for my wee baby Girl.

UPDATE: 29/09/2025 So Beansy has a blood count of 37 it had dropped to 17 but over few months it's starting to go up so fingers crossed it keeps going and she just had 5 teeth out she is a worrior so strong. It cer is an emotional roller coaster.
