This year marks the 71st anniversary of the first show which started in 1946 as a living memorial to those who died in the World Wars. The show committee continue this aim as well as providing an annual day of celebration and entertainment for villagers, their friends and families and to also attract visitors.

The Show includes various flower, produce and handicraft classes including children's categories and a dog show so there really is something for everyone! This year also sees the introduction of a scarecrow competition.

Although the Show’s purpose is not primarily to make a profit, any that is made is returned to local clubs, charities and community projects such as the play area on the village green, the new football facilities and a significant contribution to the new Pre-school premises.

We tread a fine line between donating money to good causes whilst retaining sufficient funds to cover the following years Show and avoid losses in the event that we have bad weather on the day.

Hence our attempt to raise money in advance of this year's Show on the 12th August. Money raised will cover costs such as hiring the marquee, prize money for the Flower Show and children’s races, foods, entertainers etc.
