Story

Betsy Jenny Counselling and Wellbeing Cafe has been set up to provide low cost and in most cases free counselling services to the local community.

The name itself is a tribute to my son Steven, his nickname was Betsy called that by his friends since primary school, and Jenny is an amalgamation of my parents’ names Jean and Kenny therefore Jenny.

My son Steven and my parents all passed away within 2 years of each other and from that happening I have made the decision to open a new much needed business and service - Betsy Jenny Counselling and Wellbeing Café.

This venture is not simply a counselling cafe.

This is a place that we want locals to take on as their own. We will run all kinds of wellbeing groups: mindfulness; yoga; art sessions; mental health awareness, mens mental health groups and other complementary therapies and we know local people are running community groups already and serving us - they are invited to have this as their base.

The cafe itself will offer a range of healthy foods in keeping with healthy body, healthy mind.

All proceeds from the cafe will be put straight back into providing the vital services we will be offering.

We are now ready to fit out the Cafe, Counselling Rooms and Therapy Rooms.

We need your help.

Please donate as much or as little as you can to get this much-needed service open to our local community.

Thank you
