Our aim is to start our own charity which would help those who are street and otherwise homeless in Birmingham City Centre. Hoping to help individuals better their lives in any way accessible to us. From feeding and clothing individuals, to helping people furnish their hostels/bedsits when moving from the streets to there first home and walking the streets signposting services for the emotional and practical support needed to take the appropriate steps out of homelessness.

We are currently seeking donations in order to fund the production of food packages, toiletry parcels, clothing and household items. We can arrange to pick up items within the Birmingham area but only small items at the moment.

Examples of what people have donated so far are as follows:

Money - As little as £1 can make a hot meal for eight people or make two mini toilet bags for people on the streets

Street parcels - Biscuits, crisps, chocolate, sandwiches, bottled or canned drinks

Toilet bag -deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, soap, wet wipes, creams, sanitary protection, condoms

Household parcel - toilets rolls, soap powder, cleaning products, tinned items, cereals, pasta, rice

Clothing -Sleeping bags (most in need of), hats, gloves, scarves, under wear, socks, blankets jeans jumpers

Larger items could be household/kitchen appliances, beds, TVs, furniture.

Our present goals for the future are to fundraise £750 to register as a charity, first and foremost. Ideally a company to donate a storage unit as many large items are turned away due to not being able to store them. A ‘man with van’ or a van for the day who could pick up and drop off large items. The resources to develop and build our website and working with a printing company to print our literature also.

Long term goals are to have a mobile kitchen and to be working with the homeless full time.
