Weʼre raising £7,500 to repair clock mechanism and also clean and restore the Clock Tower.

Story

We have met our first target to fix the clock and are now fundraising to restore the tower! At fifty feet it is made of steel, cast iron and bronze and finished with a dolphin weathervane. The distinctive decoration and delicate design add to its rarity as one of the few remaining Victorian clock towers still in its original park setting. We are working in partnership with the Brighton & Hove City Council, who will continue to provide annual servicing and seasonal time changes to the clock.

We have enough for the mechanism and our fab new graphic shows we're over a third of the way to our target of £7500!!! This will cover the initial cost of repair to the mechanism, but another £5k is needed to restore the rest of the clock tower.

Update! Target extended to £7500. The full restoration of the Clock Tower is going to be a big job! With the help of our fantastic community, we have reached £2500 - which will cover the cost of repairing the clock mechanism. We are now moving on to raise funds for stage 2 - restoring the clock and the tower itself. So we have extended the target to £7500, to cover this. Please help if you can - either by simply sharing this post or by donating to the fund - every little bit will help! Thank you so much for your support 😊
