On August 25th 2016 Blossom Iris Kelly died from an accidental drowning whilst on a family holiday in Spain. Blossom was unable to swim despite attending weekly swimming lessons at our local swimming pool.

"We couldn’t of asked for a better daughter in you Blossom. We very rarely told you off and when we did your sapphire blue eyes and cheeky face got you away with anything.

You were beautiful inside and out. A tiny little porcelain doll that always had a smile and a tale to tell. You skipped home every night and couldn’t wait to tell us about your day. Telling tales of how Hudson had been cheeky at the childminders house and what you had eaten on your sandwiches. But most of all you couldn’t wait to eat your tea and ask us about our days.

Your magical personality was what made you who you were. The most loving and caring little human we had ever met. Your uniqueness and creativity would astound us every day. Most days you had us laughing before we even got out of bed because you has washed your hair in hand wash or was dressed in a swimming costume and wellies before 6am."

Following the tragic events we are surprised to see how common accidental drowning is in the UK, as reported by The Royal Life Saving Society... "Drowning is among the leading causes of accidental death; about 400 people accidentally drown every year, which equates to one person dying every 20 hours."

Blossom's story inspired an outpouring of support and it is befitting for this to benefit other families who may be effected in the future. We are hoping to raise funds to provide interventions such 
as creating safer environments, providing swimming lessons, water safety education and CPR.

Blossom's story will hopefully prevent this happening to anyone else.
