Who are we?

Bob Team Stanbridge was formed by RAF Aircraft engineer & Elite athlete John Stanbridge in 2020 following successful selection into the GB development squad. Built from military and civilian athletes with one goal to compete at the highest level and challenge the world best in the sport they love. BOBSLEIGH.

Bob team Stanbridge is completely unfunded by UK sport, this meant it falls to athletes to fund their involvement and development personally or find a way to compete by raising funds through corporate sponsorship. Raising corporate sponsorship and major personal investment from John and the team digging deep has managed to keep them racing on ice over the last 4 years.

This determination has seen the team rise from a development squad into one of the top teams in GB, achieving multiple podiums on the European cup and securing World cup and World championship selection in the 2023/24 IBSF season.

Kit and equipment play a massive factor in the results of the team, similar to Formula 1, every driver wants to be in the fastest car with the latest technology to gain that edge. Our current sled is well over 10 years old, even with a strong team and an amazing drive down the Icy tracks we are unable to match the aerodynamics and speed found in modern World class sleds.

Any donation can go along way help the team achieve our potential and allow us to fulfil a dream of Olympic qualification and secure a spot at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan/Cortina.
