To finalise my nursing training I will be completing an amazing 4 week elective placement in June 2017 with 'Nurse Uganda' alongside 15 other students, providing acute and community care for children and their families in various Ugandan villages. The aim of the trip is to provide basic everyday essentials, promote staying healthy through education and offer first aid and available treatment for people in need.

Throughout the trip I expect to develop my nursing skills, immerse myself in and learn about their culture and experience practising in a completely different environment which will contribute to my progression as a nursing professional and enable me to grow in confidence preparing me for my first job as a newly qualified nurse.

Through part-time work whilst studying and on full-time placement I have funded the majority of the trip myself, however, aim to raise the rest of the money to help fund vital and lifesaving treatment for the Ugandan citizens that my colleagues and I will meet along the journey. No matter how big or small your donation will be all money raised will be going towards a fantastic cause and every penny will contribute to providing a brighter future for the individuals we will be meeting.
