I’m Janine and in 2010 aged just 32 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I did not routinely check myself for breast changes and found a lump by chance as rib pain alterted me that something wasn't right. I’m not alone as breast cancer affects men and women of any age and so many people still do not check their breasts. Unfortunately, in 2011 the cancer returned and I now live with the uncertainty that secondary breast cancer brings. Secondary breast cancer can be treated for a period of time but is not curable.

In September 2016 I was given the devastating news that I no longer have any her2 targeted breast cancer treatments on the NHS remaining and at present there aren't any drugs trials. I may be able to have private drugs in the UK but it will be costly. If this is not an option I will need to seek alternative treatment abroad. For this to happen I need raise vital funds and I need the support of everyone to help me extend my life. I need you and my two children need me.

I want to give something back and can not simply fundraise, so 'Boobie Date' was born. The objective is to create awareness of breast cancer and to encourage every adult to book their boobs in for that important date each month to get to know them and spot any changes early. The Boobie Date team have been working hard to write and produce a music video to create awareness of breast cancer. I am hoping that this will alert people to book in for that monthly date with their breasts to get to know them and spot changes early. In exchange for this advice my aim is to raise vital funds so I can receive private breast cancer treatment here in the Uk or abroad if this gives me more options.
