    Story

I volunteered through my school's connection with Pearls of Africa (PASNEC) in Uganda. I am one of 10 sixth form students and 5 teachers, who aim to help children who have been neglected by their families because of their disability. Pearls of Africa teach these children how to look after themselves and learn life skills. These skills allow them to earn money to support themselves when they become adults. They also provide these children wth education and a safe place to live. However, this charity relies on donations and volunteers to help improve facilities and the quality of life for disabled children in Uganda. When in Uganda, we will be primarily based in Guluddene where our team will help maintain and improve the new building that Twynham School helped to construct in previous years.

I have raised a total of £1,100 to fund my travel costs and accommodation through working the last 6 months but would like to raise extra raised which goes directly to our group donation pot for the charity.

I am doing a run 5K with a friend and collect donations with the intention to raise this money. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will have a colossal impact on improving the lives of children in Uganda with disabilities.
