Story

Please can you help a family. Bri and Iona have been part of our rugby family for more than 8 years. Both of their children, twins Iori and Elsi have played rugby for Denbigh Rugby club and we would like to help them and show them our love and support.

On the 10th June Bri and his family's life was changed when a simple bike ride turned into a nightmare. Iona and Bri had taken their bikes on one of their usual routes, when out of the blue, a couple of lambs jumped out of the hedge in front of Iona. Iona was thrown from her bike and Bri immediately knew that Iona was seriously injured, but the extent of her injuries was not known until much later.

Bri called for an ambulance but unfortunately none were available so he had to get Iona to the hospital himself. Once in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, the extent of Iona's injured were realised and it became obvious that she needed to be transferred to Stoke.

Iona has suffered a serious traumatic brain injury, facial fractures, broken ribs and a torn pancreas (the lasting effects of which are still unknown) She spent many days in and out of a coma after suffering 2 seizures. She will need to spend time in Stoke hospital to recover, Bri is making the 166 mile round trip in order to see Iona but to also be at home with Iori and Elsi. He is considering renting a flat near to the hospital, the cost of which would be £800/month. Iona's recovery could take months. It is hoped that she will be moved to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd as her condition improves but there is no guaranteed timing on this. She is making progress every day and we would like your help to take the financial pressures off Bri and his family at this difficult time.
