What is crowdfunding?

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Story
So while I was doing the children in need event for my station, My chair decided to give way, And my mic got caught, I am starting this crowd-funder to see if anyone can help me get back to what I love doing and get back to daily shows.
I am 19 and I am trying to start in a profession that I have wanted to do since I was 10, I got a job at this radio, And now that this has happened, I can't carry on with the job.
So if anyone can help me, I will be eternally grateful
