    Story

Brukum Kponya LA Primary School is located in the Eastern Region of Ghana within the Manya Krobo area. The school was established by the local community pre 1970s. It was a mud- building roofed with a mixture of hays and corrugated iron sheets surrounded by green vegetation.

This school served the community for many years. It laid the foundation for many of us. Some of us progressed through to Middle Schools, Secondary School and Universities.

The community constantly maintained the school however the rate of deterioration increased. The walls began to collapse totally and the roof blown/corroded away. This left the school teachers and children exposed to various levels of health &safety risks. The consequence of all these include poor school environment, challenges in hiring and maintaining teachers and low pupil attendance.

Recently a new skeletal school building has been put up as shown in the top right picture. The community however need assistance to complete the building. The needs include external walls to enclose the school building, internal division walls to segregate the different classrooms, learning materials for the children and an office to store learning materials.

The community is ready to provide labour at no cost for the construction hence any money raised will go 100% into the school. I want to do this but it will take me longer if not forever. This is why I’m asking for your help, so that together we can provide the necessary learning environment for school.
