As the manager of a local boys football team this tragic loss has made me think of the impact that Astons death has had not only on his family and loved ones, but also on his team mates at Bustleholme Lions Under 13's.

Such a traumatic event is difficult for anyone to come to terms with, let alone 12 year olds.

I did not know Aston or his family but I do know of Bustleholme FC who have been a terrific local club for a very long time.

I am aware of other fundraising in memory of Aston, however having spoken to other local managers, we the local footballing community wish to come together to raise money to support the children of Bustleholme Lions under 13's.

We are all aware of the strong bond between team mates and parents within such a well run club. Our teams are our family and we would like to show our support by raising money to enable the team manager to organise something of their choice, to remember Aston but to also allow these bereaved 12 and 13 year olds to have a day out or an event to remember, they are after all just children.

Therefore I am calling on the footballing community to unite as a family and give generously to this team. After all there but for the grace of God go us all.
