Story
My daughter is aged 15 and is a Girl Guiding Ranger. Through Girl Guiding she has been selected to represent Hampshire East Girl Guides and travel to Zanzibar in October 2024 with African Adventures.
In Zanzibar, along with a small select few, she will attend partner schools and help with renovations, teaching and sports coaching.
Schools in Zanzibar are overcrowded, under-resourced and lacking in basics such as desks. Access to toilets is limited (up to 400 children sharing one toilet) and this often leads to children missing out on education. It is particularly difficult for girls to manage their menstrual health.
Volunteers on the trip will be part of the https://www.african-adventures.co.uk/in-progress-wash/https://www.african-adventures.co.uk/in-progress-wash/ improving the access to latrines and part of the school-led programme helping girls to manage their menstrual health.
Her trip is paid for through fundraising. Some may have seen her at a number of fetes and events where she has run a number of stalls to raise money towards her total.
I hope if you have a pound or two spare you would consider donating to Clara's trip so she can attend and help out at the schools in Zanzibar next year.
Thank you in advance
