I'm looking to raise funds to help with the costs involved in organising and running a downhill mountain bike racing team, this includes anything from race clothing to travel & entry fees. (A little about myself and my aim for the future) I started mountain biking after giving up motorcycle road racing a few years ago primarily to keep fit and for something to do at the weekends. After a few months of riding I befriended some local youths that was riding in the local woodlands that clearly already had freeride skills. After a few months of meeting and riding with the group I found myself getting more advanced on a mountain bike and started to travel to various trail centres all over the uk, this lead me wanting to take it one step further and create a club and go racing.
Well after 2 years of riding and some grassroots ,national & eurpean racing we've consistently finished within the top twenty and top tens & even our first 2nd place podium more recently in Portugal.
My aim is to get more young and middle aged men and women involved in the team and the sport to provide a pastime that's both great fun and great exercise hopefully to give them something to aim for and keep them from becoming idle and moving in the wrong circles at the weekends, ultimately to have our own local trails where everyone young & old can get involved.
