I've raised £1500 to continue the work of Czech & Slovak Community and School Bristol and its various activities including the playgroup Stonožka.

In January 2024, it was 10 years since the foundation of Czech & Slovak Community and School Bristol CIC (CSCS Bristol in short) as a non-for-profit organisation supporting Czech and Slovak communities in Bristol. For the past decade we've done that via various activities, groups and events including educational programmes, language courses, playgroups, seasonal and culturally relevant events and charitable giving. During the covid lockdown CSCS Bristol was distributing food to families in need as well as supporting them in other practical ways. For many families the playgroup Stonožka which remained opened as a support group, was absolutely crucial to maintaining their mental health, obtain advice and further support. The work of CSCS Bristol CIC is heavily dependent on financial grants from the Czech and Slovak Governments and generosity of its volunteers. In 2022, the Czech and Slovak communities across the UK have seen significant cuts in funding provided to them and CSCS Bristol has not been an exception. These challenging times were overcome last year thanks to creative fundraising initiatives which resulted in mind-blowing generosity of its supporters with gifts exceeding £3000 in total. Amongst other activities that were impacted by this financial boost, this also meant that the weekly playgroup Stonožka which previously only functioned thanks to the subsidies could continue to run without limitation. No doubt, the times continue to be challenging but we have yet greater plans and vision that we would like to implement.
And so once again, we're calling out to you, all supporters and beneficiaries of our work to join forces and help us keep all elements of our work in place and not only that but to expand further to continue to support the community in a greater and more meaningful way.
Thank you!
