    Story

We are part of a registered charity "Cardiff Chameleons MENCAP" (Ref:1103879). We are a bowls club for people with special needs and learning disabilities. We are based at Cardiff Indoor Bowls Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. We rely on donations and self-funding to keep going.
Playing bowls provides a fantastic opportunity for people with special needs to play an inclusive sport socially and competitively in a friendly and safe environment.
We train almost every week of the year with the ultimate aim of competing in The Special Olympics which is held once every 4 years. Next year's event will take place in Sheffield in August. In order to compete each competitor needs to pay for accommodation, food, travel and competition fees. Even after a subsidy, the cost is over £500 per player. Most of the players are struggling to find anything like this amount and as a result they may not be able to compete.
Any donations would be gratefully received and appreciated.
