Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised
The charity supports asylum seekers, refugees or recently arrived Eastern European migrants (primarily Roma, fleeing persecution) in the Coventry area who experience real poverty and lack the most basic personal and household facilities. We meet at Hillfields Baptist Church on a Tuesday morning and provide families with support, refreshments, food, clothing, toiletries, nappies, household items that have been donated to us. We currently have 600 members coming from 23 different countries.
With many people fleeing for their lives from persecution and poverty we believe that when they come to this country they should be able to live in safety and have their most basic needs met as they adjust to living in a new and strange environment.
Supporters of the project are welcome to attend Hillfields Baptist Church on a Tuesday morning from 9.00-10.30am where they will see their donations making a real difference to the families we support
Money we raise will be spent on providing families with basic necessities they need, for example, a cooker, fridge, freezer, bed, wardrobes, clothes - in particular school uniform
