I've raised £500 to Help restore and open the Courtenay Air Raid Shelter as an information centre and small museum in Courtenay Park Newton Abbot Devon.

We are a group of local ww2 historians and Buffs, in the process of the planning stages with the local council, and if sucuessful we are hoping to restore the shellter to its original state.
The aim is to repaint the inside and outside of the building, freshen up the area outside and manifacture a reproduction bench for the inside.
We are also going to have information boards and relivant pictures of the local area during the 1940s as well as a few display cases containing artifacts of the era.
As we are a non profit association we rely on donations and grants from outside organisations and persons.
We want to acheive this to bring to light what happened in Newton Abbot during ww2 and use this to educate the local community as well as dementia groups and other organisations local and futher afield.
