Story
Change their story is a campaign run by former VSO ICS volunteers aiming to replenish and stock a library in the community of Igangan, Osun State, Nigeria. We are aiming to do this to tackle the issue of illiteracy in Nigeria, a UNESCO report in 2015 suggested over fifty percent of Nigerians were illiterate. This means that 65 million Nigerians are illiterate. We believe the best way to deal with the issue of poverty is to tackle the issue of illiteracy.
We are asking for donations to cover costs of shipping books from the UK to Nigeria and from within different locations within Nigeria to Igangan. We felt that if the entire team- eight from the UK and eight from Nigeria- were involved in collecting books then we would receive a wider set of literature. If it is not possible for you to make a cash donation then send us a book to send to the library! Follow the link to our FB page and get in touch with us if you want to send a book! Thank you for taking the time out to look at our campaign and we hope you donate!
