Story
The members of the independent Milton Keynes Dons Supporters Association have undertaken the challenge of raising the funds to enable us to install a specialised Changing Places toilet facility, at our football club, it will immediately help one of our disabled supporters, who is desperately in need of this type of facility to help maintain his privacy, and retain his dignity, as we wish for ourselves, the equipment we need to do this includes hoists, an adult size powered changing bed, washing facilities, etc.
This new facility will be an immediate godsend to our friend Kieron Norton who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, he will be 17 years old in April, and along with his parents Andrew and Sharon he comes to every game at Stadium MK. Some time ago when the family realised that Kieron would enjoy going to see a football match they gave him the choice as to who he would like to support, he chose the MK Dons, and from then on the family have been travelling to the stadium in Milton Keynes to watch every home game, what makes this case so special, and shows the total dedication of Kieron's parents, is that they travel from their home in Mansfield every game, each trip being about 4 hours of motoring, and a two hundred mile round trip.
As you will realise, to lift a young man of 17 out of his wheelchair has become very difficult for his parents, and becomes even more difficult for them in the confines of an ordinary sized disabled toilet, that is why we need this purpose built toilet for him to use. Kieron is totally reliant on his parents for his wellbeing and every day needs, and over the years he has been admitted into hospital for a number of operations, he is now scheduled to go back into hospital in March for major surgery on his back.
The completed facility will not only be welcomed by Kieron, but by all other disabled supporters that may have the need of it over many years to come, and will remain as a lasting legacy to all those that supported this venture.

7 years agoOur thanks go to all the teams that helped us raise over £2000 towards our target. Teams that were involved in the changing places challenge cup were, Watford, Crawley, Stevenage, Northampton, and our own MKDSA FC with around 75 players taking part. The project has seen quite a few offline donations coming in with monies raised by other events organised by the MKDSA. Our total to date is now £5000. We still need your help so please help us reach our goal with one last push of the 2016/17 season. Thanks

7 years agoTo everyone that is supporting us with our Changing Places Project, this is just to let you know that our friend Kieron underwent a major back operation yesterday, and although he is still in HDU at the moment he should be back on the ward tomorrow, and the outcome of this surgery is looking good.
