Hello!
We (Charlotte and Ellie) are taking on the three peaks challenge on the 9th September 2017! As crazy as it sounds, we are planning on climbing Ben Nevis, scafell peak and mount Snowdon all in the space of 24 hours to raise money for a very special and worthy charity, called Isabel's Sparkle.
Isabel's sparkle is a fundraiser that was created to raise as much money and awareness of a very special young girl, called Isabel.
Isabel is now 6 years old and suffers from a very rare and cruel disease called Late Infantile Battens Disease.
Until the age of 2 Isabel developed typically and healthily, but after reaching many milestones Isabel began to regress and was diagnosed with Epilepsy. As the year went on Isabel's symptoms became more apparent to her parents. In April 2015 she was diagnosed with this disease and her parents were told that not only was Isabel to lose the ability to walk, talk, eat and to see, they would also have to start grieving for the inevitable loss of Isabel. Sadly, Isabel's life expectancy is between the age of 6-12 years old.
However, this horrible disease doesn't stop Isabel's amazing personality shinning through! Even though she's experienced major functions being stolen from her she still continues to smile and laugh when she's at her most happiest, like being pushed as high as possible in her special swing or listening to her favourite songs or just being around the people she loves.
Our aim is to raise as much money as we can to ensure Isabel and her family can create some more precious memories that they can cherish in years to come and to support them with any equipment or expenses they need to ensure Isabel can have a good quality of life.
