Hello all!

I first came to Peru in April 2016 and my first stop was the Tambopata Reserve in Puerto Maldonado. I fell in love with the wildlife, the vast jungle canopy and also the beautiful people who live here. Now, 7 months later, my home is within a small community in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, in the Madre de Dios region.

The local people have welcomed me into their lives and are helping me to learn about their culture and way of life. The families here live a simple life, with no running water or electricity. It hasn´t always been easy for me to adjust but their patience, warm hearts and appreciation for what they have has taught me a lot.

This Christmas will be very different, but I´m hoping I can make it extra special for the children of the rainforest. With your help and small donations, I can buy each and every child a gift for Christmas. Whether it's a panetone and chocolate, some new shoes or a toy they can call their own, I want all the children to know what it feels like to have something given to them with love.
