Story

They say visualisation is powerful, well visualise this....

The sun is setting in Chamonix on the last Friday of the summer holidays. The Hancox family of 5 have been enjoying an idyllic holiday but things are about to take an abrupt change. I am stood behind a massive inflatable archway with a pasta inflated belly, penned in alongside a few thousand runners, cowbells ringing in our ears. Sincerely hoping I can muster the energy to match all my bluster about UTMB over the past few months and successfully navigate this 108 mile ultra marathon circling Mont Blanc, ascending over the height of Everest and passing through France, Italy and Switzerland.

Sounds pretty tough right? In the scheme of things, not at all, it's a small thing compared to what many endure.

I'm asking you to do something small and help me fundraise for Arlo's Adventure. It is a fantastic locally registered charity that has a huge impact on people's lives. Set up by parents in the name of their son, preserving his legacy, Arlo's Adventure supports local families with children receiving treatment away from home and also bereaved families dealing with the loss of a child or pregnancy. Their support extends to the whole family, with a particular focus on siblings and practical support not otherwise funded by any other organisation.

I have been friends with the Owen family for many years, so I am pleased to be able to raise money for such a great cause.
