What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

25 Queens Road, now the Headquarters of Sussex Masonry was built in the 1820s by Amon Wilds and the Architect was Charles Augustus Busby. Various families occupied the house and in 1862 it was owned by the Kidd family of Brewers who lived there until 1897 when it was bequeathed to the Provincial Grand Lodge. Recognising the need for funds, and as the Provincial Grand Master, I will be undertaking a sponsored parachute jump on my Birthday (a present to myself!) and all the sponsorship will go to the 25 Queens Premises Fund.

Therefore, on 25th July 2017, my (hopefully not last) birthday, I will leap from a perfectly serviceable aircraft at Skydive Headcorn, The Aerodrome, Headcorn, Ashford, Kent TN27 9HX, to kick start the drive to raise funds for much needed repairs.

Well I never did! But I did!! Mission accomplished!!! What an incredible experience, and I am indebted to all at Headcorn for their help and encouragement. It was a long time waiting, some 7 hours, but we flew, jumped and conquered!! My personal thanks to all who have donated, and to those who I hope will now do so. The dizzy heights reached today, can only be matched by your generosity going forward, in support of our unique and vital HQ.

Knees trembling now. After 7 hours of not so patient waiting, lift off is imminent. Farewell, but I hope not goodbye.....

With 4 days to go, tension is mounting. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all who have donated, either via Just Giving or elsewhere. It is thankfully received and will be faithfully applied. Here's hoping for good weather and a good parachute that opens!!
